Banana Bread

1/3 C. shortening
1/2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 C. sifted flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 C. mashed ripe bananas
1/2 C. chopped walnuts

Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients and bananas to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in nuts and pour into greased bread loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes or until done. Remove from pan, cool on rack. Makes 1 loaf.
