Basic Bread Recipe from Laurie Vawdrey (Submitted by Jamie Balzen)
INGREDIENTS:
12 cups of flour (white or wheat)
1 tablespoon salt
¾ cup dry potato flakes
½ cup oil
½ cup honey
5 cups water, hot as you can get it (tap water)
3 Tbsp. SAF yeast
DIRECTIONS:
- Put all ingredients into the bread mixer, along with 4 cups of the flour and mix for about 1 or 2 minutes until everything is mixed well.
- While mixer is still mixing add yeast
- Add 8 more cups of flour
- Mix for a couple of minutes (not more than 3).
- Grease pans.
- Dump dough out on flour or greased surface.
- Follow directions for rolls, french bread, cinnamon rolls, or pizza roll below.
For rolls:
Divide into 4 balls. Roll out in a circle. Cut like a pizza. Roll fat to skinny. Place in greased cookie sheet pan. Let rise. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.
For french bread:
Divide into 4 balls. Shape loaves. Two loaves will fit on one greased cookie sheet pan. Make slits on bread with knife. Let rise. Bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes.
For cinnamon rolls:
Divide into 2 balls. Roll out in rectangle. Spread butter, then sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on dough. Cut and place 4 by 6 in a greased cookie sheet pan. Let rise. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes.
For pizza rolls:
same as cinnamon rolls only add pizza toppings. Cook and freeze for a yummy treat anytime!!!
